Twin Fin Coffee was founded on the idea that our daily cup of coffee can do more to support the communities we travel to in order to surf and connect with nature and local cultures.
While the Fair Trade and Direct Trade suppliers that we deal with are doing amazing things to improve the lives of farmers in these coffee growing regions, the reality is that climate change is currently the most significant threat to their livelihoods.
This is where surfers and coffee farmers are united, and can support one another.
$1 from every bag of coffee we sell goes to support environmental and educational programs in the regions our coffee is sourced.
Why Environment and Education?
Well, rallying for the environment is an easy sell for surfers. We all care greatly and are deeply invested in the health of our oceans and beaches.
But where do you start? Where do you put money and effort to work? Which of the thousands of worthy causes do you support?
It turns out, to protect our oceans, we need to start on the land.
Project Drawdown has researched, outlined, and ranked the top 100 solutions to achieve, not only a leveling-out but a decline in greenhouse gasses.
Reforestation of tropical areas and the education of girls are #5 and #6 on the list respectively.
With organizations already located in our favorite surf and coffee growing locales and active in these fields , we aren’t looking to reinvent the wheel. We’re just looking to help these passionate organizations do what they do best.
